Bra sizes and international size conversion chart

How to measure your bra size | International size conversion chart

How to measure yourself for a bra:

Whilst wearing a bra, take the under bust measurement holding the tape measure firmly.
Take the measurement in inches.

If the number of inches is odd, add 5 (i.e 29" =34. 31" =36 etc.)
If the number of inches is even, add 4 (i.e 32" =36. 34" =38 etc.)

The result is your bra size in inches.

Next, take the over bust measurement.

The difference between the under bust measurement and the over bust measurement gives the cup size as shown in the following table:

4 inches difference:    A cup
5 inches difference:    B cup
6 inches difference:    C cup
7 inches difference:    D cup
7.5 inches difference: DD cup
8 inches difference:    E cup
9 inches difference:    F cup
10 inches difference:  G cup

Example 1:

  • Under bust size = 31 inches.
  • Add 5 inches to give your bra size = 36.
  • Over bust size = 42 inches.
  • Difference between over bust size (42) and under bust size (36) is 6 inches.
  • This makes your cup size C
  • Therefore your bra size is 36 C.

Example 2:

  • Under bust size = 36 inches.
  • Add 4 inches to give your bra size = 40.
  • Over bust size = 44 inches.
  • Difference between over bust size (44) and under bust size (40) is 4 inches.
  • This makes your cup size A
  • Therefore your bra size is 40 A.
